The Affordable Care Act (ACA) – also known as “Obamacare” – helps make lactation services more affordable and accessible to families by requiring that health insurance plans cover certain preventive services, without co-payment or deductible. This is of particular benefit to pregnant and nursing women because the ACA has expanded its list of preventive services to include the costs associated with breast pump rentals/sales and lactation services.

Many families with health insurance policies beginning on or after August 1, 2012 are finding that they are being reimbursed for lactation services and provided a breast pump at no cost.  At our consultation, I will give you a detailed receipt to submit to your insurance company so that they can reimburse you directly.

I am an In-Network Participating Provider with all Aetna PPOs, Aetna Scripps HMOs and United Healthcare PPOs.  For families with these insurance plans, I am able to bill your health insurance company directly for lactation services.
